Description
One of our favorite fall flowering trees, the Autumnalis Flowering Cherry produces gorgeous deep pink buds that open to semi-double, soft-pink flowers in mid to late fall and intermittently through warmer periods of winter! The flowers form in clusters along the bare branches. Its double-serrated dark green leaves turn to shades of bright yellow, gold, orange, and red in fall. Pea sized black, berry-like fruit appear in late spring to summer providing food for birds and other wildlife. Autumnalis is a magnificent tree that deserves a spot in every landscape where it will grow! USDA Plant Hardiness Zones: 4a-8b  Find Your Zone
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 25 to 35 feet tall and 20 to 30 feet wide, the Autumnalis Flowering Cherry Tree is ideal for use as a specimen or in groupings in sunny to mostly sunny areas of landscape or woodland borders. Also nice to frame the corners of tall homes and to provide beauty and some shade around patios, porches and other outdoor living spaces. A fine addition to pink theme gardens, cottage gardens, and wildlife gardens.
Suggested Spacing:Â Â 35′ or more for space between trees
Growing Preferences
Â
The Autumnalis Flowering Cherry Tree is very easy to grow in most any average, moist but well-drained soil and full sun or mostly sun. It is very drought tolerant when established. Standing water or constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic.
