Spacing:Â 3′ for solid hedges, 6’+ for space between plants
Growing 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, Legend of the Small Fothergilla is ideal as an accent specimen in smaller garden spaces and containers. It can be planted in groupings, as a natural low hedge, or as a border in landscape, flowering shrub, and woodland borders. It is especially lovely near the garden pond or other bodies of water and a fine addition to North American native plant gardens, pollinator gardens, fragrance gardens, and cottage gardens.
Suggested Spacing:Â 3 feet apart for solid borders; 6 feet apart for space between plants
Legend of the Small Fothergilla is easy to grow in moist but well-drained or wet soils of average fertility. It thrives in full sun or shade, though fall foliage color is best with a few hours of sunlight daily. In hot and dry climates, it will appreciate some shade or filtered sun during the hottest part of the afternoon.
