Description
Among the finest of small flowering trees as a focal point, the Marley’s Pink Parasol Fragrant Weeping Snowbell is one that deserves a very special spot in the landscape where its beauty and fragrance can be enjoyed. A compact tree to maybe 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide when all grown up makes her a good fit as an eye-catching specimen in smaller garden spaces, home foundation plantings and large containers that can be situated on patios, decks or around other outdoor sitting and living spaces. In late spring to early summer, a profusion of wonderfully fragrant, bell-shaped pink flowers with a cotton candy-like fragrance appear from top to bottom of the long branches that cascade to the ground like a fountain. The flowers stand out beautifully against what are larger, darker green and glossier leaves than those of other snowbells. With the arrival of cooler temperatures in fall the leaves turn a bright lemon yellow. Can be kept as an umbrella shape showing trunk or allowed to weep to the ground. Easy to grow and long-lived Marley’s Pink Parasol is sure to be a conversation piece.
Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing Preferences
Â
The Marley’s Pink Parasol Weeping Japanese Snowbell Tree is very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter and and full sun to part shade. We suggest at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day or morning sun with afternoon shade or all-day lightly filtered sun. Standing water or constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic.
