Description
A Forget-Me-Not that you definitely won’t forget, Mon Amie Blue is the first Myosotis to bloom; heralding the arrival of spring in late winter or very early spring. It forms a low mound of attractive grey-green leaves that become smothered with clusters of dainty flowers with true, soft-blue petals that surround a tiny yellow eye. Because it will self-sow, this one is excellent for naturalizing in partially shaded to shady woodland borders or any other shady areas of the garden. Other perennial plants and bulbs will pop right through it in spring. It grows best in a spot with afternoon shade but will tolerate full sun in consistently moist soils. Forget-Me-Not is the state flower of Alaska, which is a testament to its cold hardiness.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Mon Amie Blue Forget-Me-Not is ideal for use as a low border along garden beds, paths and walkways or to naturalize in partially shaded woodland borders and other partially shaded areas of the garden. Other types of perennials and flowering bulbs will pop right through its foliage in spring. A wonderful addition to mixed container gardens. A fine addition to cottage gardens, meadow gardens, woodland gardens, rock gardens and blue theme gardens.
Suggested Spacing:Â 8″ apart for mass plantings or border
