Description
A very hardy perennial groundcover perfect for brightening up a shady to partially shaded spot, Purple Dragon Lamium is a vigorous grower that forms a lush carpet of stunning silvery-white leaves with grey-green edges. The foliage contrasts beautifully with the charming, hooded, rich magenta-purple flower clusters that rise above the foliage in spring and continue sporadically until fall. Excellent in garden beds and containers. Cold hardy to -40F!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 6 to 8 inches tall and spreading 12 to 24 inches to form a solid patch,  Purple Dragon Lamium can be grown in garden beds or as a solo or in combination with other shade-loving plants in container gardens. It is ideal for use as a border along paths and walkways, as a groundcover to fill in around shrubs in home foundation plantings and woodland areas, as an underplanting for shrubs and trees, tucked around boulders in rock gardens, or as an accent and spiller plant in combination container gardens.Â
Suggested Spacing:Â Â 18 inches apart for mass plantings and solid borders

Growing Preferences
Purple Dragon Lamium is very easy to grow in most any most but well-drained soil of average fertility and part shade. With consistently moist soil it will tolerate full sun, even in the South, but we think it looks and performs its best with some shade, especially in the afternoons. As with many other plants, a constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. Established plants growing in shade have good drought tolerance. It’s soft stems make it very easy to clip to keep in bounds.
