Description
One of our favorite of the spring flowering trees, ‘Snow Fountain’ is a Weeping Cherry with a more narrow form that produces a spectacular show in spring when gorgeous fragrant white blossoms nearly cover the vertically weeping branches. Attractive dark green leaves appear in spring and remain through the summer turning shades of yellow, gold, and orange in fall. Pea sized black, berry-like fruit appear in late spring to summer providing food for birds and other wildlife. Unlike most other weeping cherry trees the much smaller and more narrow form of Snow Fountain serves well as a focal specimen around the home or in smaller landscape spaces where the large growers won’t fit. Snow Fountain is a magnificent tree that deserves a spot in every landscape where it will grow! USDA Plant Hardiness Zones: 4a-8b Find Your Zone
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 10 to 15 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, the Snow Fountain Weeping Cherry is ideal for use as a specimen or in groupings in sunny to mostly sunny areas of landscape or woodland borders. It’s the perfect focal specimen for use around patios, porches, entryways, home foundation plantings and other outdoor living spaces. A fine addition to white theme gardens, topiary gardens, cottage gardens, and wildlife gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 12 to 15 feet or more apart for space between trees
Growing Preferences
The Snow Fountain Weeping Cherry Tree is very easy to grow in most any average, moist but well-drained soil and full sun or mostly sun. It is very drought tolerant when established. Standing water or constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic.
