This is the single-trunk tree form version of the Tinker Belle Magnolia, a more recent introduction bred by world-renowned Magnolia breeder Vance Hooper of Brixton, New Zealand. Sometimes spelled Tinkerbelle, it is adored and prized for its breathtakingly beautiful blooms, vigorous growth, and smaller stature, which make it a good fit where space is limited and in containers. From a young age, in early to mid-spring, and sometimes sporadically reblooming through the summer thereafter, Tinker Belle produces abundant, wonderfully fragrant, tulip-shaped blooms with petals that are a deep magenta on the outside and soft pink on the inside. The flowers are excellent for cutting and display in a vase or as part of a floral arrangement. Tinker Belle assumes a more upright and narrow form, measuring approximately 12 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, clothed in lush, dark green foliage that remains handsome throughout the season.
